Predict Falls Before They Happen
Gentle health monitoring that preserves independence while keeping connection strong.
Gentle Health Monitoring
We've lost the art of the gentle check-in.
Text "you good?" every day and it feels like hovering.
Don't reach out and you lie awake wondering.
For them: They want independence without worrying you.
For you: You want to give them space but still know they're okay.
You both want the same thing: freedom with a safety net.
Falls Don't Have to Be Inevitable
Chickadee Health monitors the warning signs that precede falls—poor sleep, reduced mobility, declining activity—and alerts families before a fall happens, not after.
Meet your gentle early warning system
They live their life
Apple Watch or iPhone tracks health patterns—sleep, movement, activity. No extra devices. No disruption.
Chickadee notices
When something seems off (poor sleep, unusual fatigue, movement changes), the app detects it early.
You get a nudge
A gentle notification: "Might be a good time to check in." Not an alarm. Just permission to reach out.
The result: They keep their independence. You get peace of mind. Connection happens when it matters most.
Life Alert tells you AFTER someone falls.
Chickadee tells you BEFORE.
We don't wait for emergencies. We watch for patterns:
- Sleep quality declining
- Movement becoming unsteady
- Activity levels dropping
- Fatigue building up
The difference: Early warnings mean you can call to say "Hey, noticed you didn't sleep great—want to chat?" instead of "Why aren't you answering? Are you okay??"
What We Track
Patterns that tell a story about how they're really doing.
Slower than usual
Consistent with normal
Standing activities
Total movement today
What This Pattern Means
Key Finding
Your walking speed has slowed while your activity and steps stayed consistent. This combination often indicates fatigue or balance issues—a key fall risk factor worth monitoring.
The Good News
Your balance time and overall activity remain strong. You're staying active, which helps maintain strength and stability.
What We're Watching
We'll continue tracking your pace. If it continues slowing or you notice difficulty with stairs or uneven surfaces, we'll alert your family right away.
What families are saying
"Finally, I can check in without feeling like I'm hovering. The app tells me when something's actually worth a call."
"My mom gets to keep her independence, and I get peace of mind. It's exactly what we both needed."
"After my concussion, I was nervous about overdoing it. Chickadee gives me confidence to live my life again."
Who Chickadee is for
Long-Distance Caregivers
Your mom lives across the country. You want to know she's okay without calling every morning.
"I'm in New York. Mom's in Oregon. Chickadee gives me permission to call—when the app says her sleep was rough, I check in. When it doesn't, I trust she's fine."
Partners of People with Health Conditions
They want independence. You want them to be safe. Both are possible.
"After my girlfriend's brain injury, I couldn't be next to her 24/7. She didn't want me to be. Chickadee let her go grocery shopping alone—and let me know if she needed me."
Anyone Who Wants Their Own Safety Net
Living alone doesn't mean being alone.
"I had a concussion last year. I'm recovered now, but I still get nervous about overdoing it. Chickadee alerts my sister if something seems off. I get my independence back."
Why build this?
Several years ago, my girlfriend got hit in the head by a horse.
The traumatic brain injury meant she couldn't look at screens. Loud noises could trigger seizures. She needed rest, quiet, and someone watching for warning signs.
But she also needed her independence.
I couldn't be next to her every second. She didn't want me to be. But I needed to know when she was in trouble—before she pushed herself too hard.
So I built Chickadee.
Not an alarm system. Not surveillance. A gentle way to know when she might need me.
It gave her freedom to heal on her own terms. It gave me peace of mind that I'd know when to show up.
That's what Chickadee does. It makes "distance" and "presence" stop being opposites.
